Our world, our ministry, and our community were completely shaken early this morning with the unexpected passing of our dear friend and the longtime Board Chair of FOHM, Pamela Navey
There are simply no words that can capture the heartbreak we are feeling. We are devastated. We are grieving. We feel lost.
Pam was truly one of a kind. No one can fill the space she leaves behind. Through her years of wisdom, leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication, she poured into all of us. She taught us so much—not just about serving others, but about loving people well, standing in the gap during life’s hardest moments, and never giving up on those who needed someone to believe in them.
Together, we answered countless crisis calls, celebrated victories, cried through losses, and walked alongside so many people in our community. If you knew Pam, you know her heart belonged to everyone. She never met a stranger, and she never turned away from someone in need.
One of her favorite sayings was, “I’ll slow down when I’m gone.”
And if she could speak to us today, I can almost hear her saying, “Don’t cry another tear. There is work to be done. There are people to serve, people to love, and hope to share. Get to work, and give it your very best.”
That is exactly how we will honor her legacy.
Pam, thank you for every lesson, every prayer, every hug, every hard conversation, every laugh, and every life you touched. Your fingerprints are all over this ministry and this community, and your legacy will continue through every act of love and service inspired by your life.
While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We know you are hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
We love you, Pam. We will miss you beyond measure. We are soooo glad you loved to take pictures… they sure put a smile and tears on our faces today!
Please keep Pam’s family, our FOHM family, and everyone who had the privilege of serving beside her in your prayers as we navigate this tremendous loss. We are hurting, but we know God will faithfully carry us through, just as He always has~ Karen Kidd
